LJB is pleased to announce that we have earned two awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Ohio organization. Both award winners highlight our ability to lead programmatic projects that reduce risk and positively impact the clients and communities we serve.
Fast-Track Fall Hazard Abatement Design
Leveraging our expertise in fall protection consulting and design, LJB has been assisting Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) to proactively and systematically address fall hazards on building roofs throughout its network of acute care facilities in Ohio, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Virginia. For this project, LJB designed solutions to 18 hazards that present the most risk to the organization, helping BSMH mitigate 41% of its identified fall risk.
Statewide Pedestrian Safety Improvement Program (PSIP)
The inaugural implementation of the PSIP addressed pedestrian safety issues in high-risk, urban jurisdictions across the state of Ohio. LJB’s transportation team collaborated with the Ohio Department of Transportation to develop the program, including eligible safety countermeasures, their expected costs, and the application process. Through this program, we have helped implement safety improvements to 528 locations in eight large Ohio cities, using 23 different solutions, including curb bump outs, curb ramps, signing and marking, overhead sign supports, RRFBs, PHBs, and street lighting.
